Assessing Technologies Driving the Future of Corporate Function – Q1 2022 National Insights Series, Virtual Event

Like | By  Rosie Fea | November 4, 2021

With the Federal Government’s Digital Economy Strategy allocating of $15.3 million to The Shared Services Program as part of the Modernisation Fund (2017) to support the transition of agencies to more “modern and sustainable operating models”, $89.5 million across three years to consolidate and streamline back-office corporate functions in the Australian Public Service, and further funding for Services Australia to design, build and operate the GovERP platform, public sector back-offices are now making tracks toward becoming efficient, intelligence enabled decision-making hubs.

Building reliance on digital skills and capabilities, all finance functions are now encouraging modernised business processes and transformed government services – providing greater clarity and thus cutting unnecessary costs, saving government money.

But whose job is it to get on board, and how can we increase understanding of why this shift is of benefit not only to them as finance professionals, but organisations on the whole?

Being aware of capability and skills gaps is a key component of successful implementation of new initiatives going forward, so in 2022 we will be kicking off our Q1 National Insights Summer Series for the Corporate and Shared Services community with a virtual event that broadly encompasses all folks belonging to the back-office coming together to bounce ideas, share current case study learnings, and work symbiotically on creating a more streamlined function across all departments and tiers of government in Australia.

Julie Prater, Executive Leader and Project Relationship Director at the Australian Taxation Office will be kicking things off, addressing how awareness and education of digital capabilities for back-office roles can be targeted with campaigns and onboarding of e-invoicing projects on a federal, state, and local government level. Also drilling down on the key enablers and digital service providers that are on offer for transitioning to e-invoicing and more digitised corporate processes.

This short video outlines what all the fuss just might be about:
