Transforming Government through Technology Based Initiatives
By taking a citizen centric approach to information technology, public sector leaders can deliver services in a fast, more secure, and reliable manner. While many see the value proposition in investing in information technology there are barriers to adoption. These include security, compliance, budgetary realities, and existing roadmaps. Information technology is a critical pillar in the growth of economic development. It can also have an impact in policy implementation and thereafter realization of government’s goals and objectives.
For departments, agencies, and localities around the country it is important to learn from past transitions and plan for technology imperatives for a culture of continuous improvements. Government leaders need technology tools that allow them to move expediently and collaboratively as their mission focused agendas require. Solutions should be implemented to realize long term benefits and capture the full potential of technology innovations.
