Virtual Event: Future Justice and Corrections

Building a More Accessible, Responsive, Secure and Efficient Justice System

Thursday, June 24, 2021
(Start: 12.00pm ET / 9.00am PT)

Agenda Overview:

COVID-19 has created turmoil across the world in almost every sector. One bright side in the Canadian justice sector, however, has been the accelerated use of technology in both the court system and the legal profession, a change that would have normally taken decades to implement.

By leveraging videoconferencing, online interaction, cloud computing, electronic filing and case management, digital document storage, and other digital capabilities, what has emerged a more accessible, affordable, fair, and transparent judicial system. Though leveraging these tools was a necessity during the pandemic, it has also created room for the development of rehabilitation and support programs that encourage positive community dynamics.

Building on the changes and lessons learned from the past year, Public Sector Network’s Future Justice and Corrections virtual event will delve deeper into how to use technology effectively to fast track the judicial process. It will also give a birds-eye view on how to overcome process gaps related to technology. Moreover, it will provide you with an opportunity for professionals to share examples of how transformation within our agencies leads to a kinder, fairer, and safer Canada.
